Join us for The Orpheum's Birthday this year with our Speakeasy soiree. The Orpheum Theatre was founded 107 years ago on August 21st, 1916 and it has remained a pillar of art, beauty, and community in Galesburg since then. This year, we are celebrating our birthday and raising money so we can celebrate our past and future all as one. 
     Based off the highly popular Stage Door Speakeasy of summers past, this Speakeasy Soiree will have the same spirit of its namesake pop-up stage lounge: an ambiance that reflects the gin mills of bygone days. Speakeasy Soiree guests can expect to enjoy prohibition-era themed cocktails, card games, and hors d’oeuvres while the victrola radiates vintage tunes. Guests will also find themselves witnessing classic silent films, showing the antics of Buster Keaton or Charles Chaplin, all the while taking in the occasional set of ragtime music played live on The Orpheum’s baby grand piano! The fundraiser will also include a silent auction where, among other items, guests can bid on sets of vintage Orpheum Theatre seats to bring a piece of theatre history into their own home!
