Frequently Asked Questions

Where do I park?

Surrounding The Orpheum are multiple free municipal parking lots within easy walking distance of the theatre. Reference the map below to see all nearby parking lots.

When is the Box Office open?

The theatre’s office hours are Tuesday through Friday, 10am to 2pm.  We open the lobby approximately one hour prior to show time. Doors to the house open approximately 30 minutes before the show, but vary show to show.

Why is there a processing fee?

The Orpheum Theatre works in conjunction with OvationTix, our ticketing agent. Among other things, the nominal fees paid for their services keeps your financial information safe. Ticket fees at anytime are subject to change.

Does my infant need a ticket if they are going to sit in my lap during a performance?

Yes. Every person attending a performance is required to have a ticket, including babes in arms. This allows us to keep track of the number of people at an event in case of emergency.

If I purchase multiple tickets to a performance, will my seats be together?

Our staff will always select consecutive seats when filling your order, unless you have specifically requested otherwise. Remember, our seating layout is such that some of the seats will be numbered in odds or evens (for example, R2, R4, R6; or F5, F7, F9).  But fear not: those seats ARE together!

How will I know if I can see the stage from my seats?

There are no obstructed-views in The Orpheum Theatre, and we strive to always sell seats that will give you the best Orpheum experience. That means any seat is a good seat to hear and see the show. We cannot, however, make any guarantees that you will not end up behind a tall person or a bouffant hair-do.

Can I buy tickets for another performance while I’m at the theater to see a show?

The Box Office is staffed for performances so that it may efficiently serve the patrons attending those events. Therefore, prior to curtain time, Box Office staff will only be dealing with tickets for that particular show. At intermission the Box Office will open up to other available shows.

Tickets can always be purchased online, and you are welcome to call or come into the theatre during our business hours so we can get you a ticket.

Can I redeem my gift certificate over the phone?

Yes.  Please have the gift certificate in-hand so that you can read off the code for our ticketing agent to enter as payment.

Can I return my tickets?

All sales are final. We do not offer refunds. If a mistake has been made with your ticket reach out to us so we can amend the issue if possible.

What do I do if the show is canceled?

In the event of a cancellation we will make every effort to notify patrons beforehand by telephone or email. You will be instructed to return your tickets to the Box Office for a refund. If you purchased your tickets with a credit card, your account will be credited. If you purchased your tickets with cash or a check, you will be mailed a refund check.

What if I can’t make it because of the weather?

If the show goes on as scheduled, there will be no refunds.

Where can I see an up-to-date list of all shows coming to The Orpheum?

The best way to stay informed is to like our Facebook page.  Or, come by the theatre for a brochure of our schedule of events! You can also visit the events page in our website to see any events that currently have tickets on sale!

Who is responsible for deciding which shows will be booked?

The programming for The Orpheum Theatre Presents is largely done by the Executive Director who is always willing to take suggestions from our residents. Some shows are presented by our Tenant Series, local organizations with a passion for the ats and are responsible for setting the ticket prices, advertising, and the quality of the production.

Why don’t you bring in (insert my favorite artists here)?

There are many factors that go into deciding which artists to book: artist fees, availability, show size (will it fit on our small stage?), how many people we expect to attend, etc. So while we’d love to have all of our favorite artists come and perform here, it’s not always he best fit.

I have an idea for an artist (or film) I think will do well at The Orpheum. Are you interested?

You bet! Email your ideas to info@theorpheum.org!

Where are the bathrooms?

The restrooms are located right off the south side of the Main Floor Lobby in the hallway adjacent to The Kensington Garden Room.  There are also restrooms on either side of the Mezzanine Level, and there is a Ladies Room in the third floor Balcony Lobby.

Do you have a water fountain?

Yes. It’s located outside of the rest rooms in The Kensington, and in the Balcony Lobby.

Do you have an elevator?

Unfortunately no.  If you wish to access the Mezzanine or Balcony, please be prepared to climb some stairs!

Can I bring food or drinks into the theater?

Anything purchased in our concessions stand may be brought into the auditorium.  No outside food or drink is allowed.

Are cameras/recording devices allowed at the performance?

We do not allow video recording of any kind in compliance with copyright law.  We will occasionally allow photography without flash.

Do you provide wheelchairs?

We do not have wheelchairs available but we do have several spaces in the theatre where wheelchairs can be accommodated.

I don’t think your seats are large enough for me. Can you help?

Unless they have already been purchased by patrons in wheelchairs, we are able to place an able-bodied chair in a wheelchair space. Please contact the theatre at 309.342.2299 with your concerns.

Who do I see if I have a problem during the performance?

Direct your question first to an usher. If they are unable help, you will be directed to the House Manager.

Why do you allow standing and dancing during concerts?

We want everyone to enjoy their experience in The Orpheum but when this occurs, it is generally because the performers have encouraged their fans to do so.

Can I meet the artists? Get autographs?

Though we try to host artists who will be available for a meet-and-greet after the show, this isn’t always possible. Some shows will offer a VIP meet-and-greet, dependent on the artist.
