Initially launched in 2006, The Red Carpet Series seeks to bring world-class entertainment to The Orpheum Stage. After a couple different iterations, and a recent hiatus, The Orpheum Theatre is excited to launch our 2026-2027 Red Carpet Series with these 6 spectacular shows!

ROBERT TOWNSEND’S LIVING THE SHUFFLE – Comedy and Impressions on 10/3/26 – 7:30 P.M.

– Living the Shuffle, You’ve seen him in A Soldier’s Story, The Meteor Man, The Five Heartbeats, and most recently The Bear.

Living the Shuffle is the amazing journey of actor, writer, director, and filmmaker, Robert Townsend. Townsend, a natural-born storyteller, takes you on a show biz rollercoaster ride of ups and downs from the dangerous streets of Chicago, to performing Julius Caesar in New York City.

He also takes you behind the scenes of giving birth to his first film, Hollywood Shuffle, done with a miracle and a credit card. Townsend gives you a front-row seat, sharing life lessons he has learned along the way. This one-man show returns Townsend to his roots in the theater, where he showcases his uncanny ability with impressions and performs a cast of characters like you’ve never seen before. This edgy, vulnerable, and hilarious show will inspire and give hope to the dreamer in anyone.

SESAME STREET LIVE: ELMO’S GOT THE MOVES – Family Fun on 11/4/26 – 6:00 P.M.

– Sesame Street Live: Elmo’s Got The Moves, make unforgettable memories with your little ones at Elmo’s Got the Moves—the all-new Sesame Street Live show! This exciting experience brings Elmo and his Sesame Street friends to the stage with singing, dancing, and favorite songs like “Sunny Days,” “Elmo’s Got the Moves,” and “Letter of the Day.” Families will laugh, learn, and play together in a heartwarming celebration that you’ll treasure long after the final song.

THE MIDTOWN MEN HOLIDAY HITS – Music and Holiday Fun on 12/10/2026 – 7:30 P.M.

– The Midtown Men Holiday Hits, reuniting stars from the original cast of the Broadway smash hit Jersey Boys, ring in the Christmas season this year with the iconic Yuletide classics and signature renditions of the greatest rock and roll hits of the 1960’s by the Beatles, The Temptations, The Four Seasons, and more!

With smooth harmonies, a dazzling stage presence, and the joyful spirit of the holidays, this show blends nostalgic rock n’ roll with cheer to celebrate the season.

MICHAEL CAVANAUGH: THE MUSIC OF BILLY JOEL & ELTON JOHN – Tribute Show on 2/3/2027 – 7:30 P.M.

– Michael Cavanaugh: The Music of Billy Joel & Elton John, Michael Cavanaugh is a charismatic performer and musician made famous for his piano and lead vocals in the Broadway musical Movin’ Out. Handpicked by Billy Joel, Cavanaugh evokes a style rivaling the Piano Man himself. His interpretation of modern pop and rock classics led Billboard to call him “The New Voice of the American Rock and Roll Songbook” and Reuters to recognize him as Entertainer of the Year for the private events market. Michael began playing at age seven when his parents bought their first piano. Encouraged by family and friends, he formed his first band at age 10 and began playing local functions, fine-tuning the craft that would become his chosen career. His first full-time gig as a musician was an extended engagement at the renowned dueling piano bar Blazing Pianos in Orlando, Florida.

In January 1999, Michael received an offer that would unknowingly change his life, moving to Las Vegas to perform at the famed New York-New York Hotel and Casino. It was there that Billy Joel spotted Michael and joined him on stage during a career-defining performance in February 2001. That night marked the beginning of Michael’s ascent to Broadway. Michael closed up shop at New York-New York and moved to New York City to work alongside Billy Joel and Twyla Tharp to shape what became the hit musical Movin’ Out. He gave over 1,000 performances in the lead role and received both Grammy and Tony Award nominations.

RHINESTONE COWGIRLS – The Legendary Ladies of Country on 3/19/2027 – 7:30 P.M.

–Three powerhouse singers perform classic and contemporary country hits in this elegant and authentic journey celebrating the evolution of country music’s humble beginnings to the giants of today’s music industry. Relive classics like Patsy Cline’s “Crazy,” Tammy Wynette’s “Stand By Your Man,” and Loretta Lynn’s “Coal Miner’s Daughter,” as well as newer favorites like Martina McBride’s “Independence Day” and Carrie Underwood’s “Last Name.” 

Described by audience members as “classy and strong” with “off-the-chart vocals,” these ladies have many saying, “I didn’t know I was a country music fan until I saw your show!” It’s a high energy celebration perfect for audiences of all ages whether they’re country music fans or not.

ILLUSIONIST RICK THOMAS – Master of Mystery on 5/22/2027 – 7:00 P.M.

– As a world-famous illusionist, he has completed five world tours covering over 50 countries and received countless honors including the coveted ‘Magician of the Year’ from the Academy of Magical Arts! Rick has performed for more than 15 straight years in Las Vegas, making him known to Las Vegas audiences as one of the most fascinating performers
in Las Vegas history. Rick Thomas Illusionist has even been featured on numerous television specials including The World’s Greatest Magic and his very own special on ABC that aired throughout Asia. Audiences will be mesmerized by the talented magician as he performs the most incredible illusions in the world with a style all his own.

This exciting experience features stunning illusions and some of the greatest magic tricks that the has ever seen. This award-winning entertainer will impress with fun audience participation and grand illusions that will leave your jaw on the floor!
